About

Anna Whitfield

I’ve been photographing people for over a decade. Not the polished, over directed version of people, the actual ones. The ones who laugh wrong and hold their breath before the camera clicks. Those are the photographs that last.

2014

First paid portrait session, on a borrowed camera, in a friend’s kitchen.

2018

Still Frame Studio opens in a rented loft in East London. Natural light only.

2022

Editorial work begins for independent magazines and fashion labels.

2026

Over 600 sessions later, still one photographer and still the same loft.

What should I wear?

Clothes you feel like yourself in. Solid colours and natural fabrics photograph best. Bring two options and we decide together on the day.

How long until I get my photos?

Essential sessions are delivered within 7 days, Signature within 5. You get a private online gallery with full resolution downloads.

What happens if it rains?

We watch the forecast together and move outdoor sessions for free up to 24 hours before. Some of my favourite frames were shot in the rain.

Do you retouch the images?

Every image is colour graded and lightly retouched. I remove temporary things like blemishes and stray hairs, never the things that make you look like you.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. A partner, a friend or even a dog is welcome. It often helps people relax in the first ten minutes.

Where do sessions take place?

In my natural light studio in Hackney, at your home, or on location anywhere in London. Travel outside London is quoted separately.

How do I book and pay?

Send an email with a few dates that work. A 30% deposit secures the date and the rest is due on the day of the shoot.

Can I use the photos commercially?

Personal sessions include personal use. Brand and editorial work comes with a usage licence that we agree before the shoot.

What should I wear?
